2 - Macro Express News - Plain Text, email links, online safety Unlike many companies, we send our email newsletters in 'Plain Text' format. This means we cannot include things like graphic images, varying fonts, fancy colors and attractive layouts. These features require the use of the HTML format. The spread of Trojans, viruses, worms and other malware has caused vendors of anti-virus and anti-spam programs to start rejecting many email messages that contain HTML. We have chosen to send email in 'Plain Text' format to avoid these types of problems. One side effect of this decision is that some email clients do not allow active links from Plain Text email messages. In other words, they may display a link but do not respond if you click on it. In the last few months, many articles (online, and in print media) have recommended that users never click on links within email messages. They suggest that you copy the web site addresses from the email and paste them into your browser manually. This is inconvenient but safer than clicking directly. However, when you copy a link, be sure that you copy and paste only the link itself. Do not include any punctuation that may appear at the beginning or end of the link. 3 - Tip: Automating Screen Capture A user recently asked "How can I capture the image of my screen every minute?" This is very simple. Create a scheduled macro that will run every minute and add these macro commands: Text Type: <PRTSCR> Clipboard Save Graphic: "graphicout.jpg" You may want to use the DateTime command to include the date and time as part of the output filename. This technique may be useful to monitor what is happening on an unattended machine. 4 - User Submitted Macro - Clip Express This collection of macros allows you to save up to 15 text items into an extended clipboard.
