IE Toolbar On/Off

Written by Miles Hoffman

What it does

Macros that use Internet Explorer are dependent on which toolbars are loaded if they use the mouse to click on items in Internet Explorer or the web page. This macro controls which toolbars are loaded in Internet Explorer so your macro will run correctly.

To install

Download the macro file umietoolbaronoff.mex and save it to your hard drive where you store your macro file(s). Import the macros into your existing macro file by clicking File, Import, Import Macros.

To use

This macro requires that you call it using the Macro Run command or copy and paste it into your macro. Before running, an Internet Explorer window needs to already be open and maximized on your primary computer screen.

How it works

The only way to check if the toolbars are present is to see if the toolbar has a checkmark beside it in the menu bar (i.e., View, Toolbars). Testing this requires a color test looking for the presence of the checkmark.

Extensive comments in the macro further explain how it works.

Requirements

Macro Express 3 or later. Internet Explorer.
